4th gen Yu Zhiming and others

3rd generation of MaGui lineage

Liu Wanchuan taught many students, but because of the situation in China was not able to teach openly until his later years. Liu Wanchuan taught each apprentice differently, so each has slightly different knowledge. Yu Zhiming gained the most complete training of the whole system, but even his knowledge has gaps. Li Baohua has taken on the task of gathering together the knowledge of this generation.

Yu Zhiming (1918- ), was also originally from Shandong and moved to Beijing. He trained with Liu Wanchuan for over thirty years. Liu Wanchuan taught a lot of students, but Yu Zhiming is probably the only student to gain the complete MaGui bagua system from him.

Fan Yaohua (1934- ), from Hebei, started learning from Liu Wanchuan in 1959, and learned from him for forty years. He did not do the deep training with him, but did bagua for enjoyment and health. He learned and remembers the routinesof the MaGui system, so it because of him that they have not been lost.

Peng Guangzheng (1924-1999), from Shandong. As a youth he loved martial arts, and trained the hard skills and grappling. When he moved to Beijing he met Liu Wanchuan where they worked in the same factory. Hearing of Liu Wanchuan's skills, he immediately started learning from him, and is the student who trained with Liu the longest time.

Sun Wuling (1921-2001). Sun Wuling is a famous allround bagua master. As a youth he did YinFu bagua with his father, Sun Bolin. In 1946 he learned YinFu bagua with Liu Qingfu's apprentice Wang Kuisan. When his teacher Wang died in the 50s, he learned Cheng bagua. In the 60s he learned from Li Shao'an and Guo Guming. In the 70s he once again met with Li Shao'an in Shandong. At that time Li Shao'an was over ninety years old, so he encouraged Sun to go back to Beijing to learn from Liu Wanchuan. From 1981 to 1993 Sun travelled between his home in Jilin in the northeast and Beijing to train with Liu Wanchuan.

Bi Jie is one of Liu Wanchuan's earliest students. He wrote down many of Liu Wanchuan's verbal teachings. He is one of the few to have learned the routine paochui.

Li Wenling (1947 -). As a youth Li started bagua training with Cheng style master Wang Fusheng. He then spent many years in the army, and learned many fighting systems there. By the time he came home his teacher had passed away, so he gained an introduction to Liu Wanchuan and started learning MaGui bagua.
